DFRobot LiPo Charger Type-C - 50/200/500mA Selectable Current, TP4056X IC
The DFRobot LiPo Charger Type-C is a compact, single-cell 3.7V lithium battery charging module based on the TP4056X IC, offering selectable charging currents of 50mA, 200mA, and 500mA for integration into Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and portable electronics projects.
Features
- TP4056X-based charger with 4.2V±1% limited charging voltage for safe single-cell LiPo/ Li-ion battery management.
- User-selectable charging currents via bonding pads: 50mA (default), 200mA, and 500mA for optimal battery capacity matching.
- Integrated thermal feedback automatically adjusts charge current to maintain safe chip temperature under high load or ambient heat.
- Onboard LED and external indicator pin provide clear visual charging status (flashing/no battery, solid/charging, off/full).
- Compact 16.5mm x 28mm footprint with USB Type-C input (5V) for easy embedding into space-constrained applications.

This charger module utilizes the TP4056X lithium battery charging IC to implement a complete three-stage charging profile (trickle, constant current, constant voltage) for 3.7V single-cell batteries. The thermal regulation feature ensures safe operation across its full -40°C to 85°C temperature range by dynamically reducing charge current if the IC overheats.
Designed for seamless integration, the module provides a dedicated pin for connecting an external status LED, allowing for remote monitoring when the board is enclosed. The default output current is set to 50mA via factory bonding, but users can easily reconfigure to 200mA or 500mA by soldering the appropriate pads on the board’s underside, enabling precise matching to battery capacity from 100mAh to several thousand mAh.
