DFRobot Fermion Multifunctional Environmental Sensor (Breakout) - I2C/UART, BMP280, SHTC3, VEML7700, ML8511
The DFRobot Fermion Multifunctional Environmental Sensor Breakout integrates SHTC3 (temperature/humidity), BMP280 (barometric pressure), VEML7700 (ambient light), and ML8511 (UV) sensors onto a single compact PCB. It provides calibrated data via I2C or UART interfaces, making it ideal for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and other 3.3V microcontroller-based environmental monitoring projects.
Features
- Integrated SHTC3 sensor for ±0.2°C temperature and ±2% RH humidity measurement.
- BMP280 barometric pressure sensor with ±1 hPa absolute accuracy and altitude calculation.
- VEML7700 high-resolution ambient light sensor covering 0–120 klx.
- ML8511 UV-A/UV-B sensor for ultraviolet intensity measurement (320–400nm).
- Switchable I2C and UART communication protocols with onboard MCU for data processing.

The Fermion Multifunctional Environmental Sensor is a highly integrated breakout board designed for precise environmental data acquisition. It combines four professional-grade sensing elements: the SHTC3 digital humidity and temperature sensor, the BMP280 MEMS barometric pressure sensor, the VEML7700 high-accuracy ambient light sensor, and the ML8511 ultraviolet light sensor. An onboard microcontroller processes raw sensor data, delivering calibrated outputs in standard units (°C/°F, %RH, hPa, lx, mW/m²).
The module’s compact 30mm x 20.5mm footprint allows for direct PCB soldering or breadboard use. Careful circuit layout and thermal design minimize cross-sensor interference, ensuring data accuracy across its operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C. With selectable I2C and UART interfaces and comprehensive Arduino and Python libraries provided by DFRobot, integration into environmental monitoring systems is streamlined.
