This cable is designed for diffuse reflective sensing. It detects objects by measuring the light reflected directly from the target's surface, eliminating the need for a separate reflector. It must be connected to a compatible fiber optic amplifier which provides the light source and processes the return signal.

The 1mm core diameter allows for precise detection of very small objects, typically down to sub-millimeter scales, depending on the amplifier's sensitivity settings and the target's reflectivity. It is ideal for sensing small components, thin wires, or precise edges in automated inspection systems.

Mounting is achieved via the integrated M6 threaded nickel-plated brass tip, which can be secured into a corresponding threaded hole in a sensor bracket or machine frame. The free-cut fiber end is then stripped and polished before being inserted into the port of a compatible Banner Engineering or equivalent fiber optic amplifier.

The cable features a durable polyethylene jacket and is rated for 1000 repeat bending cycles. The minimum bend radius is 25mm to prevent internal light loss and fiber damage. This flexibility allows for routing in tight spaces common in machinery and robotic cells.
