KSD9700/BK05-BB1D Metallic Shell Temperature Control Switch - 5A 250V, 50°C Normally Closed
The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a metallic-shell, snap-action thermal switch rated for 5A at 250V AC/DC, providing reliable over-temperature protection by opening its normally closed contacts at a factory-set 50°C threshold. It is designed for direct integration into electrical circuits for appliances, power supplies, and industrial controls.
Features
- Metallic shell construction for robust thermal conduction and durability.
- Normally closed (NC) contacts open automatically at the 50°C setpoint to cut power.
- Rated for 5A switching current at up to 250V AC/DC.
- Compact design with integrated 7cm lead wires for easy installation.
- Bimetallic snap-action mechanism ensures reliable, repeatable operation.

The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc-type thermal protector housed in a metallic shell for optimal heat transfer and mechanical strength. Its internal snap-action mechanism provides a Sharp Microelectronics, positive break of the normally closed contacts when the surrounding temperature reaches the calibrated 50°C trip point, effectively disconnecting the load to prevent overheating. The switch resets automatically once the temperature cools below the setpoint.
This device is engineered for direct series connection within a circuit’s power line. The metallic housing ensures rapid response to ambient temperature changes, making it suitable for protecting transformers, motors, solenoids, and heating elements in enclosed spaces. Its simple two-wire interface (via the 7cm leads) facilitates straightforward integration without complex electronics.
