The KSD301 is a bimetallic, snap-action thermostat designed for over-temperature protection and basic temperature control. It operates on a simple mechanical principle: a bimetallic disc deflects at its calibrated set point (100°C), physically opening the normally closed electrical contacts to break the circuit. This provides a failsafe, non-powered method of interrupting power to a heating element or other device.
Housed in a Bakelite shell, the switch offers excellent electrical insulation and resistance to moderate heat. Its fixed temperature setting makes it ideal for applications requiring a specific, non-adjustable thermal cut-off. The robust 10A, 250V AC rating ensures compatibility with a wide range of mains-powered appliances and industrial equipment.
