The KSD301 is a mechanical, fixed-temperature thermostat utilizing a bimetallic disc actuator. When the ambient temperature reaches its calibrated set point of 60°C, the disc snaps, physically opening the normally closed (NC) electrical contacts to interrupt the circuit. This provides a failsafe, non-resettable cutoff for overheating protection without requiring external power.
Its bakelite construction offers excellent electrical insulation and thermal stability for the rated voltage and current. The simple two-terminal design allows for direct series connection with heating elements, motors, or solenoids in appliances, power supplies, or small industrial equipment, providing a cost-effective and highly reliable over-temperature safety solution.
