The DHT11 module is a composite sensor that uses a capacitive polymer element to measure relative humidity and an NTC thermistor to measure ambient temperature. It features a dedicated ASIC for signal conditioning, which converts analog measurements into a serial digital output, eliminating the need for an external ADC on the host microcontroller.
Designed for basic environmental monitoring, the module includes all necessary components, such as the pull-up resistor for the single-wire communication bus, on a compact PCB. Its low power profile and straightforward digital interface make it suitable for battery-powered projects and educational applications where high precision is not the primary requirement.
