The Pmod LS1 utilizes infrared photo detectors to sense ambient IR light levels, enabling applications in proximity detection, object counting, and light intensity measurement. Its analog output provides a variable voltage proportional to the detected IR intensity, which can be read by a microcontroller’s ADC pin.
The module adheres to Digilent’s Pmod Interface Specification Type 1, ensuring reliable communication and mechanical compatibility with a wide range of host boards. The on-board potentiometer allows fine-tuning of the sensor’s sensitivity to adapt to different environmental lighting conditions and detection thresholds.
