The Everlight Electronics ALS-PT243-3C/L177 is a silicon photodiode-based ambient light sensor housed in a 5mm diameter, two-pin plugin package. It converts light intensity into a corresponding analog current output, which can be measured directly or conditioned through an external transimpedance amplifier. The sensor’s spectral sensitivity is optimized for the photopic (human eye) response, and it includes an integrated IR-cut filter to minimize the influence of infrared light, ensuring accurate ambient light level readings for display management.
Engineered for low-power operation within a 2.7V to 3.6V range, this sensor is a fundamental component for implementing adaptive brightness control in consumer electronics, automotive dashboards, and smart home devices. Its compact through-hole design facilitates straightforward PCB assembly and reliable performance across a wide range of indoor and outdoor lighting conditions.
