While capacitive sensors are primarily designed for non-metallic materials (liquids, plastics, wood), they can detect metals if the sensitivity is adjusted appropriately. However, for reliable metal detection, an inductive proximity sensor is generally recommended.

Connect the sensor's brown wire to +V DC (10-30V), blue wire to 0V (GND), and black wire to your PLC's digital input. The PNP output sources current to the input when active. Always refer to the sensor's datasheet for the exact wiring diagram and pinout.
