A polarized retroreflective sensor emits polarized light and has a filter that only accepts light returning with the same polarization from a specific retroreflector. This design rejects false signals from incidental reflections off shiny surfaces like metal or glass, which a standard diffuse or retro sensor might incorrectly detect.

The complementary PNP output provides two switched signals: one PNP (sourcing) output that is active when an object is detected, and a second PNP output that is active when no object is detected. This dual-signal configuration offers flexibility for interfacing with different PLC input types or for implementing safety logic.

With its IP67 protection rating, the sensor is protected against dust ingress and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is suitable for damp industrial environments and some outdoor applications, provided it is not subjected to continuous high-pressure water jets or prolonged submersion.

The 2-meter cable typically includes four wires: brown (V+), blue (V-), black (PNP output 1), and white (PNP output 2). Connect brown to your DC positive supply (10-30V), blue to DC negative/ground. The black and white wires are the complementary switched outputs to be connected to your PLC's digital inputs, respecting the PLC's required sourcing/sinking configuration.
