The ME201WSP is designed as a solar-powered system. It includes a 6V/3W solar panel to charge two external 3.7V 18650 lithium-ion batteries (not included), which power the sensor. The sensor itself operates at 5V DC with a current draw of ≤100mA. The solar panel maintains the batteries, enabling continuous, maintenance-free operation.

Connection is performed via the Tuya Smart Life app. Press and hold the sensor's touch key for 5 seconds to enter Wi-Fi pairing mode. The LED will indicate the status. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz is not supported) and follow the in-app instructions to add the device. The sensor communicates directly with your router, with a typical range of up to 50m unobstructed.

This sensor uses ultrasonic time-of-flight measurement. It emits a sound pulse and measures the time for the echo to return from the liquid surface. This non-contact method makes it suitable for monitoring water, diesel, heating oil, and other non-foaming liquids. It is not recommended for use with highly turbulent surfaces or foaming liquids, as this can affect accuracy.

Yes, the sensor is built for outdoor and industrial environments. Its ABS/PC housing is rated IP65, protecting it against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is also rated for operation in temperatures from -20°C to +70°C, making it suitable for most climatic conditions.
