HS-S43-L Touch Sensor Module - PH2.0 Interface, Switch/Button Mode
The HS-S43-L is a capacitive touch sensor module compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. It detects touch through its gold-plated contact or indirectly through insulating materials like plastic or glass, offering a solid-state alternative to mechanical switches.
Features
- Capacitive sensing principle for reliable touch detection through non-metallic covers.
- Configurable output mode (switch or button) via solderable Jumper selection.
- Wide operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V DC for broad microcontroller compatibility.
- Gold-plated contact surface ensures stable, corrosion-resistant signal pickup.
- Compact PCB design with PH2.0 connector and dual screw mounting holes for secure installation.

The HS-S43-L touch sensor module operates on capacitive sensing technology, detecting changes in capacitance when a conductive object (like a human finger) approaches or contacts its gold-plated sensing pad. This change is processed by the onboard IC to produce a clean digital output signal. The module can sense touch not only through direct contact but also through insulating overlays such as plastic, glass, or acrylic up to a certain thickness, enabling seamless integration into finished enclosures.
Engineered for stability, the module includes a PH2.0 terminal for reliable wiring connections and features two solderable Jumper pads to select between two distinct operational modes. In ‘switch mode,’ the output toggles with each touch, ideal for applications like touch-controlled lamps. In ‘button mode,’ the output is active only while the sensor is touched, mimicking a momentary pushbutton. Proper installation requires mounting the module with a small air gap above the mounting surface to prevent parasitic capacitance from causing false triggers.
