Description

The LoRa-E5 Development Kit is a feature-complete prototyping platform centered on the STMicroelectronics STM32WLE5JC, a monolithic System-on-Chip integrating an ARM Cortex-M4 core with a Semtech SX126X-based LoRa radio. This architecture eliminates the need for separate microcontroller and transceiver components, simplifying design and reducing power overhead. The board is engineered for industrial IoT scenarios, operating across a -40°C to 85°C temperature range and supporting global LoRaWAN frequency plans.

Power management is flexible, accepting 5V via USB Type-C or 3V from an included 2xAA battery holder, with onboard regulators providing stable 3.3V and 5V rails. The RF section delivers high performance with programmable output power up to +20.8dBm and receiver sensitivity from -116.5dBm to -136dBm, enabling robust communication in challenging environments. The board’s extensive peripheral set, including a dedicated RS-485 interface and Grove ecosystem connectors, allows developers to integrate a wide array of sensors and actuators without custom wiring, accelerating the transition from prototype to deployed field device.
