Description

The Generic T-01 Bluetooth Item Locator is a purpose-built tracking device leveraging the Apple Find My network ecosystem. It utilizes Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy (BLE) for its primary wireless communication, providing a balance of stable connectivity and minimal power draw. This design enables the device to operate for extended periods on a single, user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery.

Its operational architecture relies on secure, encrypted data packets broadcast via BLE. These signals are detected by nearby Apple devices in the Find My network, which anonymously relay the location data to the cloud, allowing the owner to pinpoint their item on a map. The tracker’s compact form factor and minimal weight make it an ideal accessory for attaching to keys, wallets, bags, or luggage without adding noticeable bulk.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up and pair this tracker with my Apple devices?

Bring the tracker near your iPhone or iPad, then open the Find My app. Tap the 'Items' tab, select 'Add Item', and follow the on-screen prompts. The device will automatically detect the nearby tracker and guide you through the naming and final pairing process to add it to your Apple ID.

What is the typical Bluetooth range for locating my items?

The effective range is approximately 30-100 feet (10-30 meters) in an open line-of-sight environment. Walls and obstructions will reduce this. For locations beyond direct Bluetooth range, the tracker utilizes the Apple Find My network, which uses nearby Apple devices to anonymously relay its location to the cloud for remote tracking on a map.

Can I use a different brand of CR2032 battery, and how do I replace it?

Yes, any standard 3V CR2032 coin cell battery is compatible. To replace it, twist or pry open the two halves of the tracker's plastic housing. Carefully remove the old battery, insert the new one with the positive (+) side facing up as indicated, and snap the case back together securely to ensure a waterproof seal.
