Description

The Official Raspberry Pi 7″ Touch Display 2 empowers users to develop all-in-one, integrated projects such as custom tablets, advanced infotainment systems, and diverse embedded solutions. This 720×1280-pixel display connects to your Raspberry Pi via a dedicated adapter board, which efficiently manages both power and signal conversion. Only two connections are necessary: power is drawn from the Raspberry Pi’s GPIO port, and data is transmitted via a ribbon cable connected to the DSI port, present on all Raspberry Pi models.

Key to its functionality, the display boasts a true multi-touch capacitive panel with support for five-finger touch. Touchscreen drivers and an on-screen keyboard are fully integrated into the latest Raspberry Pi OS, ensuring complete functionality without needing an external physical keyboard or mouse. The unit attaches securely to your Raspberry Pi using four screws and includes power and data cables compatible with both standard and mini FPC connector formats. Unlike its predecessor, the Touch Display 2 integrates the display driver PCB directly into the display enclosure, resulting in a significantly slimmer and more streamlined design.

While it is a native portrait-format panel, Raspberry Pi OS provides robust support for screen rotation, allowing users to comfortably utilize it in a landscape orientation if preferred. This display is a crucial component for makers and developers looking to add an interactive visual interface to their Raspberry Pi projects.
