The FNGVS221-ASS-C is a variable area (VA) flowmeter, also known as a rotameter. It operates by the vertical position of a solid stainless steel float within a tapered glass tube, which is balanced by the upward force of the flowing liquid. The flow rate is read directly from a 100mm scale on the tube, providing an instantaneous analog indication without requiring external power.

This flowmeter is designed for use with compatible liquids that will not corrode its stainless steel and glass components or degrade the Viton O-ring seals. It is suitable for water, oils, coolants, and many chemical process fluids. Always verify chemical compatibility with the specific media before installation to ensure seal integrity and measurement accuracy.

Install the meter using its 1/4" BSPP ports, ensuring threads are properly sealed. The integrated needle valve is operated by rotating the knob on the rear connection block. Turning it clockwise reduces flow, while counterclockwise increases it. The meter is factory-calibrated; the valve is for flow adjustment only, not for recalibrating the scale accuracy.

Key safety features include a UV-stabilized polycarbonate safety cover that shields the glass tube, a rear blow-out safety vent designed to direct any tube failure away from the operator, and tool-free glass tube removal that minimizes risk during maintenance. The robust stainless steel construction also provides mechanical durability.
