The DT series from TE Connectivity consists of unencapsulated rectangular piezoelectric film sensor elements. These elements utilize a thin, high-activity piezo polymer film that generates a significant electrical charge in response to mechanical strain or vibration, producing a voltage output approximately 60 dB higher than a standard foil strain gauge under equivalent conditions.
The sensor features screen-printed silver ink electrodes, offering a flexible and durable metallization layer. The element’s capacitance, which is proportional to its active area and inversely proportional to its thickness, is specified at 1.38 nF. This raw sensor element is supplied without leads or housing, providing engineers and developers with a core component for designing custom piezoelectric transducers for precise measurement and detection applications.
