For best results, dry Sovol Silk Dual Color PLA at 45-50°C for 4-6 hours before printing. Proper drying prevents moisture-related issues such as stringing, bubbles, and compromised surface finish, ensuring the vibrant silk effect is consistently maintained throughout your print jobs. This step significantly improves overall print quality.

The dual-color effect is naturally integrated into the filament. To best showcase the transition, design models with smooth, curved surfaces or varying wall angles. Printing larger objects or models with rotational symmetry will often highlight the color shift most effectively, allowing the gold and rose red to blend and separate beautifully.

We recommend a nozzle temperature between 200-220°C and a heated bed temperature of 45-60°C. These temperatures ensure good layer adhesion, minimize warping, and optimize the filament flow for a smooth, silky finish. Always perform a temperature tower test to fine-tune settings for your specific printer.

While not strictly necessary like with ABS or ASA, using an enclosure can help maintain a stable ambient temperature around your print. This can further reduce the risk of warping and improve overall layer adhesion, especially for larger prints, contributing to a more consistent and high-quality silk finish for your models.

Proper retraction settings are crucial for minimizing stringing and blobs, which can detract from the smooth silk finish. For Bowden setups, start with 4-6mm retraction; for direct drive, 0.5-1mm. Fine-tuning these settings prevents imperfections that might disrupt the visual appeal of the dual-color transition and surface luster.
