The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc-type thermal protector housed in a metallic shell for optimal heat transfer and mechanical strength. Its operation is based on the differential expansion of two bonded metals, which causes a snap-action to open the normally closed electrical contacts once the calibrated temperature threshold is reached. This action provides a failsafe cut-off to protect motors, transformers, power supplies, and heating elements from overheating.
Designed for direct mounting on heat sinks or within equipment enclosures, the switch resets automatically once the temperature falls below the set point. The 7cm insulated lead wires facilitate straightforward wiring into control circuits. Its construction ensures stable performance across a wide range of environmental conditions, making it a fundamental component for thermal management and safety compliance.
