The FST100-2008 tipping bucket rain gauge operates on a precise mechanical principle where a calibrated bucket tips for every 0.2mm of collected precipitation, generating a corresponding pulse. This mechanical signal is converted into a digital output via its integrated electronics, supporting both direct pulse counting and standardized RS485 Modbus-RTU communication at 9600 baud.
Constructed with a stainless steel shell and a Sharp Microelectronics-edged, high-smoothness rain-bearing mouth, the sensor minimizes water adhesion errors and is protected against debris clogging by an integrated funnel mesh. Its robust design ensures stable performance across an operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C, making it suitable for permanent, unattended field deployment in harsh environmental conditions.
