Description

The eSUN PETG+ Orange 1.75mm 3D Printing Filament provides a robust material solution, merging the beneficial characteristics of both ABS and PLA. This advanced PET-G formulation ensures high toughness, enhanced heat resistance, and reliable layer adhesion, resulting in parts that are strong yet possess a degree of flexibility, making them less prone to brittle failure compared to standard PLA.

Printing with eSUN PETG+ is notably straightforward, comparable to PLA, though careful first-layer adhesion is crucial to prevent blobbing around the nozzle. While it can print with or without a heated bed due to low warping, a bed temperature of 65°C is recommended to facilitate automatic part release upon cooling. The material’s good hydrophobicity and UV absorber content contribute to its stability during storage and use, producing prints with a desirable glossy finish.

Note: Due to a recent supplier update, some shipments may contain eSUN PETG labeled product instead of eSUN PETG+. Rest assured, the material composition and technical specifications remain identical, ensuring consistent performance for your 3D printing projects.

Key Features

  • Higher strength, lower shrinkage, and smoother finish compared to ABS and PLA.
  • Excellent combination of strength and ductility, suitable for mechanical parts.
  • Good chemical resistance for durable end-use applications.
  • Often produces a nice, translucent, glossy finish.
  • Contains a UV absorber to improve material stability.
  • Good hydrophobicity, making it resistant to water absorption and suitable for high humidity environments.
  • Low shrinkage characteristics, allowing for reliable printing even without a heated bed.
  • Almost odorless during the printing process, improving user experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the optimal print temperature settings for eSUN PETG+?

For eSUN PETG+, an extruder temperature range of 230-250°C is recommended. The heated bed should be set between 75-90°C, though 65°C can facilitate easier part removal once cooled. Experiment within this range for best layer adhesion and surface finish on your specific printer.

How can I ensure good first layer adhesion when printing with PETG+?

Achieving strong first layer adhesion is critical. Ensure your print bed is clean and level. While PETG+ has low warping, using a mild adhesive like 3DLAC or a glue stick can significantly improve initial bed grip. Properly "squishing" the first layer, similar to PLA, will enhance bonding.

Does eSUN PETG+ require a specific drying procedure before printing?

Although eSUN PETG+ exhibits good hydrophobicity, all thermoplastic filaments can absorb some moisture over time, potentially impacting print quality. For optimal results, it is advisable to dry the filament at approximately 60-70°C for 4-6 hours before use, especially if it has been exposed to humid conditions.

What are the key advantages of eSUN PETG+ over standard PLA or ABS?

eSUN PETG+ combines the best attributes of both materials: it offers significantly higher strength and ductility than PLA, providing more durable and bendable parts. Compared to ABS, it exhibits much lower shrinkage and is almost odorless, making it easier to print with less warping and fumes.
