The Crowtail Collision Sensor 2.0 functions as a mechanical limit switch for robotic applications. In its default state, the module’s internal switch is open, outputting a logic high signal. Upon physical collision or impact, the switch is pressed closed, pulling the output pin to logic low. This provides a clear, immediate digital signal to a microcontroller for triggering evasive maneuvers, stopping routines, or logging collision events.
Designed for seamless integration into the Elecrow Crowtail ecosystem, the module connects directly to base boards without soldering. Its 3.3V to 5V operating range ensures compatibility with a wide array of development boards, from standard 5V Arduinos to 3.3V logic systems like ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico, making it a versatile component for prototyping mobile robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and interactive installations.
