Description
The RAMPS 1.4 controller board is designed to consolidate all the necessary electronics for a RepRap 3D printer onto a single, cost-effective package. It interfaces seamlessly with the powerful Arduino Mega2560 platform, providing ample room for expansion. The modular architecture, featuring plug-in stepper drivers and extruder control electronics on an Arduino MEGA shield, simplifies maintenance, part replacement, and upgrades. The Mega2560 itself boasts an ATmega2560 microcontroller with 54 digital I/O terminals, 16 analog inputs, and 4 UARTs, ensuring robust performance for complex 3D printing tasks.
This kit includes five A4988 DMOS micro-stepping drivers, each capable of controlling one bipolar stepper motor at up to 2 A output current per coil, complete with over-current protection and heatsinks for stable operation. The LCD 2004 graphic Smart Controller enhances user experience by providing a 20×04 dot matrix display, an SD-Card reader, and a rotary encoder. This allows for PC-free operation, enabling users to calibrate, move axes, and print 3D designs directly from a G-code stored on the SD card, connecting easily via the included smart adapter.
