KSD9700/BK05-BB1D Metallic Shell Temperature Control Switch - 100°C Normally Open, 5A 250V
The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a metallic-shell, snap-action thermal switch designed to open a circuit at a calibrated temperature of 100°C. Rated for 5A at 250V AC/DC, this normally-open (NO) protector is suitable for integration into power supplies, motor controls, and heating elements to provide reliable over-temperature cutoff.
Features
- Metallic shell construction for robust thermal conduction and mechanical durability.
- Calibrated snap-action bimetallic disc opens contacts at 100°C (±5°C typical).
- Rated for 5A resistive load at 250V AC/DC for broad electrical compatibility.
- Normally Open (NO) configuration; circuit is closed below setpoint, opens upon overtemperature.
- Compact form factor with 7cm lead wires for simplified installation.

The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D thermal control switch utilizes a bimetallic disc mechanism housed in a metallic shell. When the ambient temperature reaches its factory-calibrated setpoint of 100°C, the disc snaps and physically opens the electrical contacts, interrupting the current flow to protect downstream components. The metallic housing ensures fast thermal response and effective heat transfer from the monitored device.
This switch is designed for automatic reset upon cooling below the setpoint, making it suitable for recurring over-temperature protection scenarios. Its simple two-wire interface (NO contacts) allows for straightforward series connection within the power line of the device being protected, compatible with AC or DC systems up to its rated voltage and current limits.
