The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc-type thermal cutoff switch housed in a metallic shell. It operates on a snap-action principle: when the ambient temperature reaches its calibrated setpoint of 160°C, the internal bimetallic disc deforms rapidly, mechanically opening the normally open (NO) contacts to break the circuit. This action provides fail-safe protection against overheating.
Designed for direct series connection in a power line, this switch is pre-calibrated and non-resettable, meaning it remains open after tripping and must be replaced. Its metallic housing ensures excellent heat transfer from the protected component to the sensing element and offers durability in industrial environments. It is suitable for AC and DC applications up to its rated 250V and 5A limits.
