The KSD9700/BK05-BB1D is a bimetallic disc thermal switch housed in a metallic shell for optimal heat transfer and mechanical protection. The switch operates on a snap-action principle: when the ambient temperature reaches its factory-calibrated set point of 70°C, the bimetallic disc deforms, instantly opening the normally open (NO) contacts to break the electrical circuit. This provides a fail-safe method of preventing overheating in motors, transformers, battery packs, and heating elements.
Designed for direct series connection in the load circuit, this switch requires no external power. Its 5A, 250V rating covers a wide range of low to medium-power AC and DC applications. The metallic housing ensures accurate sensing of the surrounding temperature and offers resistance to physical damage, while the 7cm insulated lead wires facilitate straightforward wiring into control systems or appliance chassis.
