The KSD302 is a bimetallic, snap-action thermal switch enclosed in a high-grade ceramic body. The ceramic material provides excellent electrical insulation, high dielectric strength, and stable thermal performance, ensuring the switch operates reliably at its calibrated trip point without drift. The normally closed contacts open automatically when the sensing surface reaches the factory-set temperature of 130°C, breaking the circuit to prevent overheating.
This device functions as a one-shot thermal protector or a resettable thermostat, depending on the circuit design. After tripping, the contacts will close again once the temperature cools below the reset point, allowing for automatic or manual system recovery. Its simple two-terminal design makes it easy to integrate into AC or DC power lines for heaters, transformers, motors, and other equipment requiring overtemperature protection.
