Generic KSD301 Ceramic Temperature Controlled Switch Thermostat - Normally Open NC, 130°C, 250V 10A
The Generic KSD301 is a ceramic-bodied, normally open (NC) thermal switch designed to open a circuit at its preset 130°C actuation point. Rated for 250V AC/DC and 10A, it provides a simple, reliable, and non-resettable temperature cut-off for protecting appliances, power supplies, and industrial equipment from overheating.
Features
- Ceramic housing for high-temperature durability and electrical insulation
- Normally Open (NO) contact configuration opens at 130°C (±5°C typical)
- High current rating of 10A at 250V AC/DC for direct load switching
- Fixed, non-adjustable temperature setting for fail-safe protection
- Compact and robust mechanical design for easy panel or surface mounting

The KSD301 is a bimetallic disc thermostat, a fundamental electromechanical temperature control device. When the ambient temperature around its sensing surface reaches the calibrated 130°C setpoint, the internal bimetallic disc snaps, physically opening the normally closed (NC) contacts to break the circuit. This provides a one-time, non-resettable (unless manually reset after cooling) protection mechanism.
Its ceramic body offers excellent thermal conductivity for accurate sensing, high dielectric strength for safe isolation at 250V, and stability across a wide temperature range. This makes the switch suitable for integration into heating elements, motors, transformers, and other equipment where a simple, cost-effective, and reliable over-temperature cutoff is required, without the need for electronic controllers or external power.
