DHT22 AM2302 Digital Temperature & Humidity Sensor
The DHT22 (AM2302) is a calibrated digital temperature and humidity sensor module featuring a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor. It provides a single-wire digital output compatible with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32, requiring only a single data pin for communication.
Features
- Digital output for both temperature and relative humidity readings.
- High accuracy: ±0.5°C for temperature and ±2-5% RH for humidity.
- Single-wire serial interface simplifies connection to microcontrollers.
- Fully calibrated and interchangeable units for consistent performance.
- Low power consumption and stable long-distance signal transmission.

The DHT22 (AM2302) sensor integrates a capacitive humidity sensing element and an NTC thermistor for temperature measurement. It outputs calibrated digital signals, eliminating the need for analog input pins and external signal conditioning. The sensor communicates via a proprietary single-wire protocol, requiring precise timing for data acquisition with a maximum sampling rate of once every 2 seconds.
Designed for environmental monitoring, the module operates from a 3.3V to 5V DC supply and is suitable for integration into IoT nodes, weather stations, and HVAC control systems. Its all-in-one package ensures reliable performance across a broad measurement range with minimal external components.
