The SHT85 digital humidity and temperature sensor represents Sensirion’s best-in-class platform, building upon the proven SHT3x sensor core for enhanced long-term stability. Its unique SIP-4 package design optimizes thermal coupling to the environment while decoupling from potential heat sources on the host PCB, ensuring measurement integrity.
The sensor utilizes a capacitive sensing element for humidity and a band-gap sensor for temperature, both factory-calibrated and delivering a digital signal via the I2C interface. The integrated PTFE membrane provides IP67-level protection against dust and temporary immersion in water, safeguarding the sensor without compromising the fast 8-second (t63%) response time for humidity measurements.
