The M5Stack Color Sensor RGB Unit employs the TCS3472 integrated circuit, which features a 3×4 array of filtered photodiodes (red, green, blue, and clear) to capture precise spectral data. The onboard 16-bit ADC converts light intensity into digital RGBA values, enabling accurate color identification and ambient light sensing.
Housed in a compact module with a standard Grove connector, it simplifies wiring for rapid prototyping with M5Stack ecosystems, Arduino boards, and other 3.3V/5V logic microcontrollers. The unit’s robust design supports operation in extended temperature environments, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor color-sensing applications.
