The CRJ-A18-8APB capacitive proximity sensor operates by detecting changes in capacitance caused by the presence of a target object within its 8mm sensing field. This non-contact method is ideal for detecting materials like plastics, glass, liquids, and granular substances where inductive sensors would fail. The sensor outputs a PNP (sourcing) signal, switching the load to the positive supply rail upon detection.
