The GP1A173LCS5F utilizes a transmissive optical sensing principle, where an infrared emitter and a phototransistor detector are precisely aligned within a 5mm gap. An object passing through the slot interrupts the IR beam, causing a corresponding change in the phototransistor’s output current. This OPIC (Optical IC) integrated design provides a clean, amplified digital signal suitable for direct interfacing with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or industrial PLCs.
Engineered for durability, the sensor operates across an industrial temperature range of -30°C to +75°C. The housing includes snap-in hooks for secure, tool-less mounting on PCBs, and the integrated 3-pin connector facilitates easy cable connection for remote installation. Its compact form factor and low-power operation make it ideal for space-constrained and energy-efficient designs.
