Description

The CUAV CAN PDB serves as the central power and interface hub for the CORE autopilot ecosystem. It integrates the functions of a high-current power distribution board, a precision power sensor, and multiple regulated power supplies into a single, robust baseboard. Its ultra-thick copper PCB with window tinning minimizes internal resistance and thermal buildup, ensuring stable operation under the high current loads typical of heavy-lift and long-endurance UAVs.

Engineered for professional integration, the board provides 14 servo/PWM channel outputs and supports direct connection to CUAV’s CORE modules, simplifying wiring in complex multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL, and robotic vehicle applications. The V2.5 update enhances reliability by replacing screw terminals with soldered power outputs, eliminating the risk of connection failure due to vibration or thermal cycling.

Key Features

  • 10-62V ultra-wide input voltage range compatible with 3S to 15S LiPo battery configurations.
  • High-current design supports up to 180A continuous draw for demanding multirotor and heavy-lift platforms.
  • Precision ITT algorithm provides 0.1A current and 0.05V voltage measurement accuracy for reliable telemetry and power consumption logging.
  • Dual high-power switching BECs deliver 5V at 6A and 12V at 4A for powering FPV systems, servos, and other avionics.
  • Ultra-thick 2oz copper layer with thick window tinning reduces PCB resistance and improves heat dissipation.
  • 14-channel PWM/Servo output support for complex gimbal, landing gear, or payload control.
  • Direct compatibility with CUAV CORE V5+, X7+, and X7+PRO flight controller modules via dedicated connector.
  • V2.5 design features soldered main power outputs for improved vibration and thermal reliability over screw terminals.

Applications

  • Heavy-lift and industrial UAV platforms requiring high-current power distribution and precise power telemetry.
  • Long-range fixed-wing and VTOL aircraft using CUAV CORE autopilots and high-voltage battery systems.
  • Professional mapping, surveying, and inspection drones with multiple payloads requiring clean 5V and 12V power.
  • Robotic and unmanned ground/sea vehicle projects utilizing the ArduPilot or PX4 ecosystem.
  • Complex multirotor builds with numerous servos for gimbal control, retractable landing gear, or other mechanisms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum input voltage for the CUAV CAN PDB?

The CAN PDB supports an ultra-wide input voltage range from 10V to 62V DC. This corresponds to a 3S to 15S LiPo battery configuration, making it suitable for both standard FPV builds and high-voltage professional UAV platforms.

What flight controllers is this PDB compatible with?

This baseboard is specifically designed for CUAV's CORE series flight controller modules, including the CORE V5+, X7+, and X7+PRO. It provides the power, telemetry, and physical interface for these autopilots within the ArduPilot and PX4 ecosystems.

What are the specs of the regulated voltage outputs?

The board features two independent switching BECs (UBECs). The first provides 5V at up to 6A maximum current (5A stable), and the second provides 12V at up to 4A maximum (3.5A stable). These are used to power FPV systems, receivers, servos, and other peripherals.

How accurate is the current and voltage sensing?

Utilizing CUAV's proprietary ITT algorithm, the CAN PDB offers high-precision telemetry. Current measurement accuracy is within ±0.1A for currents up to 110A, and voltage measurement accuracy is ±0.05V, providing reliable data for power monitoring and consumption logging.
