Description
The Waveshare Long-wave IR Thermal Camera Module leverages a hybrid microbolometer and thermopile pixel array to capture infrared radiation across an 8–14μm wavelength spectrum. Its 80×62 resolution provides a clear thermal map, converting detected IR distribution into precise surface temperature data and real-time thermal imagery. The shutterless architecture eliminates the need for periodic calibration pauses, supporting uninterrupted thermal video streaming at up to 25 frames per second for dynamic monitoring scenarios.
Designed as a Raspberry Pi HAT, the module interfaces directly via the 40-pin GPIO header, drawing a low 61mA at 5V for energy-efficient operation. It delivers a Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of 150mK, enabling sensitive detection of minute thermal variations. The module is built for industrial environments, with an operational temperature range of -20°C to 85°C and a target measurement range from -20°C to 400°C, suitable for precision thermal analysis and control systems.
