The Arducam LN065 lens is designed for image sensors with a 1/2.5″ optical format, such as the popular Sony IMX219. It is physically compatible with any camera board or housing featuring a standard M12 (S-mount) threaded lens interface. This includes many USB camera modules, Raspberry Pi camera boards, and industrial vision systems. Ensure your sensor's active area fits within the lens's image circle for optimal edge-to-edge sharpness.

To install, simply screw the lens clockwise into the M12 threaded mount on your camera board until it is hand-tight. The LN065 is a fixed-focus lens, meaning its focus is preset at the factory and cannot be adjusted. For optimal results, ensure the sensor plane is at the correct flange focal distance specified for your camera. Use the lens with subjects at its designed optimal focus distance, which is typically suited for mid-to-long range applications due to its 12mm focal length.

This lens provides a horizontal field of view (FOV) of approximately 27 degrees. The diagonal and vertical FOV will vary depending on the aspect ratio of your image sensor. A 12mm focal length on a 1/2.5″ sensor yields a relatively narrow angle of view, making it ideal for applications where you need to magnify a specific area of a scene, such as in telephoto surveillance, detailed machine inspection, or long-range object recognition.
