Description
The Intel Intel RealSense D455f Depth Camera builds upon the proven D455 platform by integrating a critical IR pass filter over its stereoscopic imaging system. This filter selectively allows infrared light to pass, which is used for depth calculation, while blocking ambient visible light that can cause interference, reflections, and false object detection. The result is significantly improved reliability for 3D perception in challenging, variable lighting conditions typical of outdoor deployments.
At its core, the module utilizes the Intel RealSense Vision Processor D4 to handle the complex disparity calculations between images from its matched global shutter sensors. This dedicated processing, combined with a wide 87°×58° depth field of view and high frame rates, enables real-time spatial mapping and collision avoidance. The inclusion of a 6-axis IMU allows applications to dynamically correct depth data based on the camera’s own movement, essential for platforms like drones, AGVs, and robotic arms.
