PiGlow Raspberry Pi LED Expansion Board for 3B/3B+/Zero W

Description

The PiGlow is a versatile add-on board designed for Raspberry Pi models including the 3B, 3B+, and Zero W, providing 18 individually controllable surface-mount LEDs. This compact expansion board enables dynamic visual feedback, mood lighting, and status indication for various Raspberry Pi projects. Its design ensures compatibility with Pibow cases, offering a seamless integration for enclosed systems.

At its core, the PiGlow utilizes the SN3218 8-bit, 18-channel PWM chip to precisely drive its array of LEDs. Communication with the Raspberry Pi is facilitated via the I2C interface over the standard GPIO header, using a bus address of 0x54. Each of the 18 LEDs can be independently controlled with a PWM value ranging from 0 (off) to 255 (full brightness), allowing for fine-grained intensity adjustments and complex lighting patterns. The board arrives fully assembled, eliminating the need for soldering and ensuring a quick setup.
