Description
The Official Arduino Portenta Hat Carrier provides a robust and reliable platform designed to elevate Portenta X8, H7, and C33 modules into industrial-grade single-board computers. This carrier board offers seamless compatibility with Raspberry Pi® HATs and camera modules, significantly expanding the functionality and application scope of Portenta-based projects. It is engineered for demanding industrial environments, supporting applications such as building automation, machine monitoring, and advanced industrial machine vision.
Equipped with a comprehensive array of peripherals, the Portenta Hat Carrier ensures extensive connectivity and control. Developers gain easy access to critical interfaces including CAN FD, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-A, and a MicroSD card slot for data logging. For enhanced control, it features an additional 16-pin analog header with 8 analog pins, GPIO, UART, and PWM, enabling precise interaction with sensors and actuators. Debugging is streamlined through dedicated JTAG pins, while a PWM fan connector helps manage thermal performance under intensive workloads.
This carrier board is not only ideal for rapid prototyping but also designed for scalable deployment. It extends beyond typical Raspberry Pi® Model B features, offering flexible power input options via USB-C from the Portenta, 5V from the 40-pin header, or a 7-32V screw terminal, ensuring adaptability to diverse industrial power systems. Its open and transparent design avoids vendor lock-in, providing a versatile foundation for integrating with the broader Arduino ecosystem and other market-leading solutions.
