Description
The Micro:bit GPIO Expansion Board significantly enhances the BBC micro:bit’s capabilities by providing comprehensive access to its underlying hardware. While the micro:bit natively offers only three digital/analog input/output rings for use with alligator clips, this expansion board transforms it into a more versatile development platform. It meticulously breaks out all 60 GPIOs, along with dedicated power and ground pins, into a standard 0.1-inch (2.54mm) pin formation. This allows for direct connection to breadboards, jumper wires, and a wide array of electronic components and modules, vastly expanding prototyping possibilities.
Designed for convenience and robust functionality, the board features a dedicated power indicator light that illuminates red when powered, providing instant operational feedback. An integrated miniature buzzer is included, fully programmable within the MakeCode environment, enabling projects with audible alerts or simple tunes. All available pins are extended without reservation, ensuring maximum flexibility for makers, educators, and embedded developers seeking to integrate complex circuits or utilize a greater number of peripherals with their micro:bit.
