Description
The eSUN PETG+ 3D Filament combines the advantageous properties of both ABS and PLA, delivering an easy-to-print material with exceptional toughness and enhanced heat resistance. This formulation also ensures excellent layer adhesion and a degree of inherent flexibility, making it a versatile choice for demanding applications.
PETG+ (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified) is a robust, water-resistant thermoplastic, renowned for its beautiful, glossy finish. Derived from PET, a widely recognized plastic used in soda bottles, PETG+ has rapidly gained popularity in 3D printing due to its combined characteristics. It offers the printability ease of PLA while providing a material strength and durability comparable to ABS.
Printing with eSUN PETG+ is almost as straightforward as PLA, though careful first-layer adhesion is crucial to prevent material blobbing. Its strong layer bonding results in very strong, bendable end parts, unlike the more brittle nature of PLA. While PETG+ doesn’t adhere well to other materials, its low shrinkage minimizes warping, enabling successful prints even without a heated bed (though a 65°C bed is recommended for automatic print release upon cooling). Optimal extrusion temperature is around 245°C; lower temperatures may increase stringiness and reduce adhesion. The filament produces minimal odor during printing, but a well-ventilated area is always advised.
