The E3D Titan Extruder is engineered for exceptional performance, integrating a 3:1 gear reduction with precision-milled hobbed gearing. This design delivers outstanding filament pushing power within a remarkably light and compact footprint, making it an ideal upgrade for enhancing 3D printer capabilities.
Its intelligent gear ratio allows for the use of lighter motors, reducing the moving mass in direct drive systems and transforming Bowden-style printers into robust, reliable machines, especially when paired with an E3D V6 HotEnd. The Titan seamlessly integrates into E3D’s modular ecosystem, supporting both Bowden and direct extrusion configurations for 1.75mm filament. Users can easily switch filament diameters and setup types, with the included 1.75mm guides and option for Bowden adapter integration.
Despite its power, the Titan maintains excellent speed, handling fast extrusion rates required by Volcano hotends and ensuring snappy retractions thanks to its lightweight gear set. The 3:1 gearing significantly triples the system’s resolution, effectively eliminating ‘pulsing’ issues common with lower-resolution direct-drive extruders. This results in incredibly smooth surface finishes, even when printing at very low layer heights or with fine nozzles.
