The KSD302 is a bimetallic disc thermostat housed in a durable ceramic package. When the ambient temperature reaches its calibrated setpoint of 110°C, the internal bimetallic element deforms, causing the normally closed (NC) contacts to snap open, thereby interrupting the circuit. This provides a fail-safe, mechanical method of temperature control without requiring external power.
Its ceramic construction offers excellent dielectric strength, thermal stability, and resistance to arcing, making it suitable for direct integration into mains-voltage applications. The switch resets automatically once the temperature falls below the hysteresis point, typically several degrees below the setpoint, ensuring cyclical protection for motors, transformers, heaters, and other electrical loads.
