The KSD302 is a bimetallic disc thermostat housed in a ceramic enclosure. At its calibrated setpoint of 140°C, the internal bimetallic element snaps, mechanically opening the normally closed (NC) contacts to break the circuit, providing over-temperature protection. Upon cooling below the reset temperature, the contacts close again to restore power.
This design offers a reliable, maintenance-free solution for temperature monitoring without requiring external power or complex signal conditioning. The ceramic body ensures excellent dielectric strength and resistance to arcing, making it suitable for direct switching of resistive loads in appliances, transformers, and power supplies.
