This module integrates five TCRT5000 reflective optical sensors on a single PCB, each consisting of an infrared emitter and a phototransistor receiver. The sensor operates on the principle of infrared reflection, where the intensity of the reflected IR light varies with the distance to the surface and its color (reflectivity). Each channel outputs a corresponding analog voltage, allowing a microcontroller to determine the precise lateral position of a contrasting line.
Designed for robust performance in dynamic environments, the array is ideal for fast line-following robots, grid navigation systems, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The analog output provides granular positional data beyond simple digital thresholding, enabling smoother and more accurate path correction algorithms.
