This module employs three independent CTRT5000 infrared reflective sensors, each consisting of an IR LED and a phototransistor. The sensor detects the contrast between light-reflective (e.g., white) and light-absorbing (e.g., black) surfaces, outputting a corresponding digital logic signal. Each channel provides a clean digital output, simplifying interface with microcontroller GPIO pins for line-following and edge-detection algorithms.
The board includes individual sensitivity adjustment potentiometers for each sensor channel, allowing calibration for varying surface materials and ambient light conditions. Its 5V DC operation and standard 2.54mm pin header make it directly compatible with most development boards and breadboards. The integrated indicator LEDs provide immediate visual feedback on sensor state, aiding in setup and troubleshooting.
