Description
The Leonardo R3 compatible development board is built around the powerful ATmega32u4 microcontroller. Unlike previous Arduino-compatible boards that rely on a secondary processor for USB communication, the ATmega32u4 integrates USB directly into its core. This crucial difference allows the board to function as a Human Interface Device (HID) such as a keyboard or mouse, providing direct interaction with computers.
Featuring 20 digital input/output pins, the board offers extensive connectivity; 7 of these pins can serve as PWM outputs, while 12 are available for analog input. A 16 MHz crystal oscillator ensures precise timing for various applications. With a Micro-USB connection, power jack, ICSP header, and a reset button, this board provides a comprehensive platform for embedded projects, from simple sensor reading to complex device emulation.
