Description

The Keyestudio Micro Bit Motor Driver Breakout Shield significantly enhances the capabilities of the BBC micro:bit, transforming it into a robust platform for motor control and robotics. This breakout board integrates the powerful TB6612FNG motor driver chip, enabling the micro:bit to drive up to two DC motors with precision. Each channel can supply a continuous drive current of up to 1.2A, with peak currents reaching 2A/3.2A, accommodating a wide range of small to medium-sized motors. The shield offers versatile motor control, supporting Forward, Reverse, Brake, and Stop modes, all while maintaining PWM frequency support up to 100 kHz for smooth speed adjustments.

Beyond motor driving, the shield is designed for ease of use and expanded connectivity. It conveniently breaks out the BBC micro:bit pins into standard 3PIN headers, simplifying connections to various sensors, modules, and components using jumper wires. Furthermore, it incorporates an onboard 3.3V and 5V voltage-regulator chip, providing stable power output interfaces directly from the board. Additional serial port communication pins are also included, offering more options for peripheral communication and system integration, making it a comprehensive solution for educational and DIY embedded projects.
