For best results, use a nozzle temperature between 205-235°C and a heated bed temperature of 50-60°C. These settings ensure excellent layer adhesion and minimize warping, yielding consistent, high-quality prints with the desired silk finish.

Store the filament in a cool, dry environment, ideally in its vacuum-sealed bag with the desiccant pouch when not in use. This protects against moisture absorption, which can lead to print quality issues like stringing or bubbling.

An enclosure is generally not required for Silk PLA+ due to its low warp properties. However, for large prints or in drafty environments, an enclosure can help maintain a stable temperature, further improving print consistency and adhesion, especially during longer print times.

While primarily chosen for its aesthetic appeal, Silk PLA+ offers improved toughness over standard PLA, making it suitable for light-duty functional prototypes or parts that require a visually appealing finish combined with moderate mechanical integrity. It is not recommended for high-stress applications.

For robust bed adhesion, ensure your build plate is clean and level. Using a thin layer of PVA glue stick or a specialized PLA adhesion spray on a glass or PEI bed heated to 50-60°C typically provides excellent initial layer stick, preventing prints from detaching.
